Alice Springs Town Council is a Local Government Area in the Northern Territory. The town council was established April 7, 1971. It is situated 1,498km south of the Darwin. The council governs an area of 320.00km² and has a population of about 28,328.

History

The Alice Springs Town Council is an established residential township with a commercial area and rural areas on the outskirts of the town. The original inhabitants of the town were the Arrernte Aboriginal people. European settlement of the area dates from 1862.

The current mayor of the Alice Springs Town Council Town Council is Damien Ryan. The council also contains 7 Alderman.
