The Diocese of Southwark forms part of the Province of Canterbury in England. It was formed on May 1, 1905 from part of the Diocese of Rochester.^[1]

It covers Greater London south of the River Thames and north and east Surrey.

The diocese is divided into three Episcopal Areas each of which contains two Archdeaconries:

• Croydon Episcopal Area (overseen by the Bishop of Croydon)
  • the Archdeaconry of Croydon
    • includes Deaneries of Croydon Addington, Croydon Central, Croydon North, Croydon South and Sutton
  • the Archdeaconry of Reigate
    • includes Deaneries of Caterham, Godstone, Reigate
• Kingston Episcopal Area (overseen by the Bishop of Kingston)
  • the Archdeaconry of Lambeth
    • includes Deaneries of Brixton, Clapham, Lambeth, Streatham and Merton
  • the Archdeaconry of Wandsworth
    • includes Deaneries of Battersea, Kingston, Richmond & Barnes, Tooting and Wandsworth
• Woolwich Episcopal Area (overseen by the Bishop of Woolwich)
  • the Archdeaconry of Lewisham
    • includes Deaneries of Charlton, Deptford, East Lewisham, Eltham & Mottingham, Plumstead, and West Lewisham
  • the Archdeaconry of Southwark
    • includes Deaneries of Bermondsey, Camberwell, Dulwich and Southwark & Newington
