The Cornwallis Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in the United Kingdom open to two-year-old thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 5 furlongs (1,006 metres) at Ascot Racecourse, and it takes place annually in October.
In 2000 the race was due to be run at Ascot, but it was called off following a security alert. It was rescheduled and run the following week at Newbury with a distance of 5 furlongs and 34 yards (1,037 metres). When Ascot was closed for redevelopment, both the 2004 and 2005 races were scheduled to be run at Salisbury. But the 2004 race was abandoned because of heavy rain, and it was transferred to Newmarket one week later.
Winners since 1987
1 The 1993 race was abandoned due to a waterlogged course.
2 The race was run at Newbury in 2000, Newmarket in 2004 and Salisbury in 2005.
