The Deutsche Akademie für Sprache und Dichtung (in English German Academy for Language and Poetry) was founded on August 28, 1949 — the 200th birthday of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe — in Paulskirche in Frankfurt. It is seated in Darmstadt.

It administers the annual Georg Büchner Prize.

It could be seen as the German equivalent of the Académie française.
