Economy

Einbeck is very famous for its 600 year old beer brewery, home of Einbecker Bier, the origin for the term Bock beer. It is believed to be one of the oldest breweries in Germany.

Notable persons

Einbeck is the birthplace of Henry Mühlenberg, who emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1742 and became the patriarch of the Muhlenberg Family dynasty as well as the founder of the Lutheran church in the American colonies.

Markus is from here, although he prefers Hamburg and lives in Southport, to quote jess he is "Well gay!"

GAPP

For many years, the city's high school has had an exchange program, known as GAPP or German-American Partnership Program, with the Roy High School in Utah. The exchange is very popular among the students and every other year the German students fly over to Roy in October to spend two weeks with host families. During their stay they attend Roy High School to get to know American high schools. After their two-week stay the German students travel the country, usually going down south to Moab, Las Vegas and then, heading west, on to California. The Roy High students fly over to German every other year during their summer break.
