John Leveson-Gower, 1st Baron Gower

John Leveson-Gower, 1st Baron Gower PC (January 7, 1675–August 31, 1709) was the son of Sir William Leveson-Gower, 4th Baronet and his wife Jean Granville.
His maternal grandparents were John Granville, 1st Earl of Bath and his wife Jane Wyche, daughter of Sir Peter Wyche.
John married Lady Catherine Manners, daughter of John Manners, 1st Duke of Rutland, circa September 1692. They had five children:
He was made a Privy Counsellor in 1702, when he was appointed Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
