John Wright (13 January 1568[1] - 8 November 1605) was a swordsman who was part of the original Catholic group who tried to blow up Parliament in 1605. He left the group halfway through the plot.

Biography

John Wright was born in Yorkshire. He was educated at St Peter's school in York - the same as his school friends Edward Oldcorne and Christopher Wright and Guy Fawkes .[2]

His brother Christopher Wright was also one of the conspirators. John was killed, along with his brother, in a firefight at Holbeache house in Staffordshire on 8th November 1605.
