Roda Antar (born 12 November 1980 in Freetown, Sierra Leone) is a Lebanese football midfielder who currently plays for 1.FC Köln. Antar is also a member and the captain of the national team of Lebanon.
Career
Tadaman Sour
Roda Antar began his career in 1999 playing for Tadamon Sour in the Lebanese Premier League. While at the club, he gained appearances for the Lebanon U21 National Team and most notably broke into the Lebanon National Senior Team in 2000, playing in the Asian Cup held in Lebanon that year. Antar would remain with Tadamon Sour until 2001 when he made a shock move to the German Bundesliga club Hamburger SV.
Hamburger SV
Antar scored 2 goals in his 23 league appearances for Hamburg and among his 2 years with the club he won the 2003 German League Cup. In 2003 he was sold to fellow German club SC Freiburg .
SC Freiburg
Antar was brought to the club by Volker Finke for the 2003/04 season in which he scored a hat-trick on his debut. Over four years with the club he made 98 league appearances and scored 26 goals. With in his time at the club another Lebanese player arrived, defender and international team mate of Roda, Youssef Mohamad. In 2007 both Antar and Mohamad were transferred to 1. FC Köln.

Upon the arrival of the two players in the 2007–08 season of the 2nd Bundesliga, Antar helped the club gain promotion back into the first division.
International career
Roda Antar is currently the captain of the Lebanese National Team. Antar is the all time top scorer as well. He has had the privlidge of scoring in many tournaments including the West Asian Football Federation Championship, 2002 FIFA World Cup qualification, 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and most recently 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. He is dubbed the best Lebanese player ever, respectively, due to his rich experience of international football and top division football in Germany.
