Sir Merrick Burrell, 1st Baronet

Sir Merrick Burrell, 1st Baronet (1699 – 6 April 1787) was a British politician.
Baptised on 5 November 1699, he was the son of Peter Burrell and Isabella Merrik. Having been governor of the Bank of England from 1758 to 1760, he was created a Baronet, of West Grinstead Park in the County of Sussex on 15 July 1766 with special remainder to his nephew Peter Burrell. He was succeeded by the latter's son, the 1st Baron Gwydyr. Burrell was Member of Parliament (MP) for Great Marlow from 1747 to 1754 and for Grampound from 1754 to 1768. He was further MP for Haslemere from 1774 to 1780 and for Great Bedwyn from 1780 to 1784.
